Lately there has been a trend of fans throwing things at celebrities while they perform. One of the most trending incidents is when a couple of weeks ago, Bebe Rexha, who is on her ‘Best F’n Night of My Life‘ tour, was in the middle of performing a set in New York City when a fan threw a phone in her direction. While fans are known to throw items at their favorite stars all the time, hoping that the entertainer will shout them out or, in this case if it’s a phone, they hope the star will record a cute video. However, in this instance, it was a little bit too much.

A clip of the moment was recorded and immediately went viral as soon as it hit the internet. The video showed the exact moment Rexha was hit in the face, and shows her instantly putting her hands to her face to comfort the blow, as she also falls to the ground in shock and pain. The singer is then rushed off the stage to be treated by on-site medics.

It was later revealed that a 27-year-old concertgoer named Nicolas Malvagna, of Manalapan, New Jersey, was responsible for striking the star in the face with a phone. He was also charged with two counts of assault in the three degree, one count of harassment in the second degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, along with one count of attempted assault in the third degree.

Following the incident, Malvagna spoke out about the situation and admitted that he intentionally threw the phone at the singer. According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, he explained, “I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”
