As we shared earlier, the case was originally filed in September 2023 by Asha Daniels. She worked as a wardrobe assistant on tour. Daniels’ lawsuit arrived on the heels of three of Lizzo’s former backup dancers: Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez.

The three accused the singer of sexual harassment and discrimination. Ultimately, a judge dismissed the allegations by December 2024. Additionally, a judge in Daniels’ case, also dismissed several claims against Lizzo in December 2024.

Judge Dismisses Former Wardrobe Assistant’s Claims Against Lizzo And Her Touring Company

Now, on Tuesday (September 1, 2026), Judge Fernando Aenlle-Rocha has dismissed Daniels’ remaining claims against Big Grrrl Touring. He ruled Daniels failed to provide sufficient evidence that the company violated labor laws. Furthermore, he noted that the alleged incidents — including claims of a sexually charged work environment and racial bias — did not meet the legal threshold for a hostile workplace.

Regarding the allegations of inappropriate conduct, Judge Aenlle-Rocha wrote:

“This alleged conduct and these alleged incidents, while inappropriate and unprofessional, fall within the scope of what the Supreme Court has held to be… part of the ordinary tribulations of the workplace.”

Additionally, the judge addressed claims of racial bias. He stated there was “no evidence” to suggest that the wardrobe manager referred to in the suit had used racial slurs.

Lizzo’s attorney, Melissa Y. Glass, praised the ruling as a “total victory” against what she described as a “ludicrous” legal action. Glass added, “There was never any basis for Ms. Daniels to sue Lizzo, her touring company, her tour manager or her wardrobe manager.”

Meanwhile, Ron Zambrano, lead counsel for Daniels, expressed disappointment in the decision. He argued that the court “improperly weighed evidence” that should have been left for a jury to decide. He also noted that they are currently considering next steps in the matter.

While breaking her silence on the legal victory, Lizzo took to her Instagram with a silent video on Tuesday. She captioned her post, “🖤🙏🏾. “ In the video of her standing in front a camera, silent, words appeared across the screen. It read:

“Today I am, relieved to announce that l have won the case against me and my touring company, Big Grrrl Touring. All the ridiculous claims, by a wardrobe assistant who worked on tour for less than 3 weeks (including a claim they broke an acrylic nail) have been dismissed. It was all so shocking because I was being sued by someone who admittedly never met me. I prayed for the truth to come out and thanks to my incredible lawyers, the truth has prevailed. That truth matters more to me than anything, and I told y’all I will not settle and will continue to fight every vicious claim that has been made against me and my businesses. I’m grateful to God and my team for another victory 🙏🏾💕. I will continue to use my platform to spread positivity and light to the world. Love to my Lizzbians, IRL, and supporters.”
