The Daily Mail posted leaked phone calls on Thursday, October 15, recorded back in 2020 and 2021, while she was still in prison and rekindling things with Ryan Anderson after a split from Ken Urker. In them, she admits she once told Urker she hoped he’d overdose. Urker is now gone, and that’s the part that has people stopping mid-scroll…
As we previously reported, Urker was found dead in his Louisiana home after a wellness check, and the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office said it was continuing its death investigation. He died on October 1, his 34th birthday. Blanchard told TMZ she believes he overdosed because an unidentified substance was found where he died, though she doesn’t know what it was or whether it was intentional.

Now for the calls… In the December 2020 audio, she talked about sending Urker the Tate McRae song “You Broke Me First,” and when Anderson guessed she’d be calling Urker soon, she shot that down. Her words, per the alleged leaked audio: “No, even after I told him he could overdose and all that” he still kept himself on her email. A separate March 2021 call reportedly has her repeating that she told Ken she hoped he’d overdose. Even Anderson seemed uneasy. He reportedly looked uncomfortable and asked to change the subject.
Context is everything, so let’s not skip it. These were the words of a woman locked up and caught in a messy romantic triangle. Urker ended their engagement in 2019, and he later said outside opinions, including a Dr. Phil podcast, influenced him. Blanchard went on to marry Anderson, split from him, and later got back with Urker. The two went on to share a daughter, and heated words from a breakup are not a confession of anything.
Blanchard has been clear about how she remembers him. She says Urker didn’t have a drug problem, that she never saw him use substances, and that she remembers him as a responsible, intentional father and partner. She also told People about the weight of what he lived through. She said he endured relentless cyberbullying across platforms like TikTok and Reddit.
She has since called for an end to cyberbullying, saying he faced years of ridicule, allegations and targeted harassment on social media. She’s also been sharing examples of the messages he allegedly received.
Meanwhile, Urker’s younger sister, Autumn, has challenged suggestions that his death was intentional, and tension between her and Blanchard is reportedly growing. Still, sources say his parents stayed on good terms with Blanchard, with neither blaming her, and she was reportedly invited to his funeral in Texas.
Urker’s death remains under investigation, and the cause has not been officially confirmed. The leaked calls, recorded years before his death while Blanchard was incarcerated, add context to a turbulent relationship but do not explain what happened on October 1. A family is grieving, and a young daughter has lost her father. Until authorities release their findings, the facts remain unsettled.
