Following Latto’s lyrics going viral and her speaking on her brief jail stint, on Wednesday (March 22), TMZ published an “exclusive,” and reported that Latto was gearing up to have her charges dropped in the gun case after reportedly “completing a one-year diversion program.”

The site said that Latto has been through a “lengthy process, but is nearing the finish line to finally getting her charges dropped.” The site reported that records showed Latto getting busted in May 2021 at LAX, and then subsequently being charged with carrying a loaded firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

The site then added that the “Big Energy” rapper “entered into a year-long diversion program, which started in April 2022.” According to the site’s law enforcement sources, Latto was “required to complete a gun safety course, perform 120 hours of community service, and avoid all firearms.”

And should she successfully complete the tasks, “both charges would be dismissed.” According to the site, in late April, Latto is scheduled to appear in court, where officials will “see if she’s satisfied all the conditions.”

She wrote, “I don’t know who put out that false a** information, cause l’m not in no d**n program…also the situation happened over a year ago, and y’all never even knew until I mentioned it in the “Boom Pt. 2” verse. [Nothing] to ‘brag’ about. Leave me alone.”

Latto also went live on Instagram to further address the issues surrounding her gun case and the backlash. She also doubled down on her not being a gangster, nor trying to portray herself as one.
