Rymir Satterthwaite, 32, the man claiming to be the son of JAY-Z, 56, says his godmother, Lillie Coley, has filed to appeal the $119,000 judgment, which he calls a “publicity stunt.” Satterthwaite declares, “He’s not getting any money, we don’t pay for fraud and having sex with minors.”

Decade-Long Paternity Battle Against JAY-Z Comes To An End…For Now
Since the 1990s, JAY-Z, born Shawn Carter, has been accused of impregnating a woman named Wanda Satterthwaite, who alleges her son, Rymir Satterthwaite, is the Hip-Hop billionaire’s son. However, the “99 Problems” rapper has vehemently denied the allegations from day one.
Over a decade ago, Rymir Satterthwaite and his legal guardian/godmother, Lillie Coley, filed a paternity case in Pennsylvania against JAY-Z, seeking DNA testing. In June 2010, Wanda requested DNA from JAY-Z and a man named Robert Graves. She said after breaking up with Graves, she had an alleged one night stand with Hov and got pregnant.
In 2011, Graves was removed from Rymir’s birth certificate after a DNA test proved he wasn’t the father. JAY-Z never took a test, but the child says Hov’s had his DNA since 2011. A 2015 affidavit further details exactly how Wanda met Hov and moments of Rymir’s conception.
Ultimately, a judge dismissed the paternity case. Rymir Satterthwaite then filed his own fraud lawsuit in New Jersey, which he later dropped by July 2025. After dropping the case, he shared a post clarifying his actions, claiming:
“It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. But, I have not stopped my fight. I did withdraw my case, it’s for a reason. It’s not ‘cause I’m stopping with it or not going to refile it or anything like that. It’s just a lot going on behind closed doors. That’s only one case that we withdrew for right now. But it’s a lot going on. You know how this industry works. These judges, these lawyers, these high celebrity people, they try to use all different types of tactics, bully tactics, different types of stuff to slow it down and just change the narrative.
So, we had to step back and play chess not checkers. So, we’ll be sitting back and we’re just observing everything right now. I just ask that y’all keep the support. Keep the support. I have not gotten any DNA tests. I have not gotten any settlement or anything like that. I wouldn’t just take it. I would let y’all know, honestly. Even if it wasn’t y’all business, y’all been here for me, all these years, supporting me. I wouldn’t dare just run away with no money or nothing like that. That’s not what it is. As I said before, just keep your eyes open.
This is bigger than me. This was never just about me. I’m trying to change things for the world, for the future. We need this to be changed. We don’t need to continue to go into these court rooms and don’t get fair due process and everybody don’t get discoveries — you just get treated unfairly. I’m standing on business and I will continue to fight.
Please don’t think that just because y’all seen that withdrawal that it’s over. It’s not over, y’all. Continue the fight with me. Continue to support me. I will support y’all. I love all y’all. Let’s just keep moving forward. That’s all we can do, right? Can’t sit there and dwell on nothing. I got a family. I gotta take care of my family. I’m grown. That’s what I do. Don’t sit there and complain about too much. Try not to complain at all. But, I appreciate all y’all’s love and support. It’s not over.”
As he dropped his case, his godmother filed a new lawsuit in a California federal court. In that complaint, Coley accused the rapper of neglect and alleged he and state officials used outdated court orders and liens to pressure her and her godson. She even claimed the alleged moves sent her into bankruptcy and jeopardized her property.
In November 2025, a federal judge dismissed Coley’s lawsuit with prejudice, bringing the decade-long paternity battle to a close. The judge not only dismissed the case permanently, but the court also denied Coley’s emergency request to stop a sanctions hearing. Following the dismissal, a judge ordered Coley to pay $119,235.45 in legal fees to JAY-Z.
Rymir Satterthwaite, Man Claiming To Be JAY-Z’s Son, Says Godmother Filed To Appeal $119K ‘Publicity Stunt’ Judgment
In response to the $119,000 judgment, Lillie Coley and Rymir Satterthwaite have both spoken out. According to Satterthwaite, his godmother is appealing the order. Taking to X on January 15 2026, he called the judgment a “publicity stunt” and “smoke and mirrors.” He added:
“Anti-SLAPP fees granted, then put on STAY. If it’s paused, why rule now instead of waiting for bankrupty court review? Other turths coming and you asked CA judge to do you a favor, right? Godmom appealed the order the next day. We going all the way to the top.
Fraud is NOT protected speech. As I said the $119,000 was a Publicity Stunt.
California denied godmom reconsideration & granted Carter the $119,000 anti slapp fees which will be on hold for payment due to similar issue being litigated in bankruptcy court. Godmom is appealing California case this week as it stated Carter never admitted he lied to NJ Court.”
Satterthwaite referenced Anti-SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation), a legal tool that allows quick dismissal of lawsuits intended to silence or intimidate people exercising their First Amendment rights (ie: free speech, stopping costly litigation early and awarding attorney’s fees to defendant, etc.).
Satterthwaite continued to quote his godmother and said:
“Godmom – ‘I’m appealing a federal court ruling to ask whether courts should refuse to review claims just because anti-SLAPP or litigation privilege is invoked-when jurisdiction itself is questioned.'”
Satterthwaite and his godmother Coley also called out JAY-Z for allegedly sleeping with minors. It’s alleged Hov was 23 and Wanda was 16 during Rymir’s conception. On X, Satterthwaite wrote:
“All of this drama to cover one issue: Wanda’s age. The record shows efforts to avoid scrutiny of an underage mother. That’s why the matter was taken so far and so long. NJ Judges, attorneys and client working together for the wrong reasons.
He’s not getting any money. We don’t pay for fraud and having sex with minors.
We never had a day in court. They won’t look at anything, it’s been all procedure. We never get to merits. They don’t want to talk about fraud, minor, etc. Don’t worry my mom will get justice.”
While tagging the United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, Satterthwaite wrote:
“It’s not over until we win; we never had our day in court for merits of case. Nobody wants to see the proof of fraud and under age woman. Deeds, affidavits, property tax. Privilege speech of lies does qualify for anti slapp protection. @AGPamBondi.”
He also reposted a comment from his godmother, Lillie Coley, that read:
“J is a liar he took my niece to New York at the age of 15, had sex with her impregnate her, real simple all he have to do is take the DNA test, and that will prove if my nephew is his son or not, he don’t want to do it because it was raped because my niece was under age and he could go to jail. I always ask myself this question why I go through all that but all you had to do was take a DNA test real simple point blank. The judge already told my nephew if he didn’t show up by July 18 and take the test he will be his father. He keep deny and deny and Deny about taking a DNA test so if he not your son, why not take the test Jay-Z already paid off a couple of his kids. Don’t know her name. but he brought hi A house and gave her about 50 or $1 million for her not to show up and pay off a couple of other ones Jay-Z when he was hanging in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he was a nobody doing what young boys do at that particular time so if you’re not buy me a father just take the test that proves everything. Why won’t you take the test? I don’t understand that real simple take the test you his father or you’re not so why not take the test? we already you you a predator cause she did it to a lot of young girls in Philly.”
