Bia attracted some unwanted attention on Twitter on Monday night after dozens of Latto’s songs leaked onto the social media platform, including what some say were reference tracks for other artists. In one particular tweet, the “It’s Giving” lyricist was heard rapping over Bia’s “Whole Lotta Money” track, which Bia released back in May 2021, followed by a remix version featuring Nicki Minaj.
Considering that Bia prides herself in writing her own songs, many people were left confused why Latto was clearly heard in the one-minute snippet, with some wondering whether the latter had provided Bia with a reference track to lay the foundation of how the final version would sound. One user ended up tagging Bia in their tweet, asking, “I’m so confused what does all this even mean does this mean Latto wrote the songs?”

No London jae wrote the hook, I wrote the pre and verse it’s not rocket science

The 32-year-old came across the comment and responded, “No London Jae wrote the hook, I wrote the pre and verse it’s not rocket science.” Despite her clearing up the confusion, judging by the comment section, some people still weren’t convinced by her explanation, with the user [a]IcyBarbie commenting, “You dont write sht we caught you.”
But others felt that her statement was valid since the supposed reference track with Latto’s voice on it did not make the final cut. So, if one was to assume Latto provided a reference version of the song for Bia, why wasn’t the material Latto rapped about included when Bia dropped “Whole Lotta Money” last year?
Other theories that fans shared on Twitter included the possibility that Latto may have been enlisted to do a remix to the track, but either way, Bia asserts that she wrote and pre and verse while the hook was penned by London Jae.

People really don’t know how the music industry works. Lmaoo dont ever play with @BIABIA pen!!!! People need to familiarize the difference between a hook and a verse and stop using “ghostwriter” so loosely you might get your tracks leaked 👀.

For those who don’t know him, London has written for countless artists over the years — including rappers — such as King Von, 2 Chainz, Lil Baby, Kevin Gates, and T.I., to name a few. He’s also said to have shared a long-standing working relationship with Latto, who he recently collaborated with on her hit “Big Energy,” which went on to win Song Of The Year at the BET Hip Hop Awards in October.
