British singer kwn, born Khyra Wilson, is going viral as she backpedals on naming American actress and singer Keke Palmer as her celebrity crush.

Back in May 2025, kwn interviewed with Angie Martinez. During the sit-down, Martinez went through a questionnaire that she had kwn fill out before the interview. When Martinez got to “celebrity crush,” kwn confidently named “Keke Palmer.” She added in, “I like Keke.”
When Martinez asked why Keke, offering, “Why? Funny? Sweet? Pretty?,” kwn simply agreed, “All three. All of the above.” Martinez continued to offer reasons and said, “You’re not afraid of a big personality.” kwn agreed, “No not at all.”

Fast forward to September 2026 when kwn interviewed with Complex News. During that sit-down, kwn was asked about previously naming Keke Palmer as her celebrity crush.
kwn replied, “Do you know what? It was kind of a joke when I said that” kwn continued to clarify, “Keke’s a beautiful woman, but it was just like, it was a like a—it was a joke.” The Complex host attempted to understand, adding, “Maybe I don’t understand UK humor, ‘cause I was fully invested.”
kwn said, Yeah. No, no, no. Do you know what? My team told me to say her name before I went on that show. We were trying to think of someone.” kwn continued to agree on her and her team believing that Keke Palmer was a “safe answer,” since she is loved by everyone.
When asked to reveal her actual celebrity crush, kwn named Alexa Demie, who plays “Maddie” on ‘Euphoria.’ She said, “Good grief. She’s something special.” kwn continued to admit she “be trying to stalk her” but Demie’s not really on social media like that.
Amid kwn’s viral comments, Keke Palmer ended up sharing some photos of her beautiful brown skin. Over her Instagram, she played Ray J‘s “Brown Sugar” song featuring Lil Wayne.” She echoed the lyrics in her caption, writing, “Yea yea yea yea yea yea yea 🤎✨.” She added, “Found these old pictures, this was a good day of play.”
