Kourtney Kardashians is speaking out about an “eye opening” moment that occurred during her pregnancy. As we previously reported, less than two months ago Kourtney revealed that she underwent fetal surgery which she said was a terrifying moment for her.
In a new interview with Vogue, Kourtney spoke out about the surgery. “That experience opened my eyes to a whole new world of pregnancy that I didn’t know about in the past,” she told the news publication. “It was terrifying. After, I learned that insurance typically only covers two ultrasounds when you’re pregnant, I had no idea. I’ve always been lucky enough to do more than what insurance covers, and it’s one of those ultrasounds that saved my baby’s life.”
Kourtney first broke the news to her fans in an Instagram post back in September where she said ““I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this. As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant. Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing. 🙏🏼🤍”
Travis Barker also spoke out after Kourtney revealed she had to undergo fetal surgery. “God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday.”
Barker and Kardashian, who tied the knot in May 2022 in a lavish Italian ceremony, are expecting their first child. They announced the happy news in June with a video from a Blink-182 concert, though it’s not known exactly how far along the Poosh founder is in the pregnancy.

Kourtney Kardashian is already mom to Mason, 12, Penelope, nine, and Reign, seven, from her relationship with Scott Disick. Barker is dad to Landon, 19, and Alabama, 17, and stepdad to Atiana De La Hoya, 24, from his marriage to Shanna Moakler.
