Isaiah Chance, one of the guys who got hit with a conviction for the murder of rapper Julio Foolio, took a moment to drop some wisdom on his city, breaking down why “beefing” and gun violence just aren’t the move.

In a clip that blew up on X, Chance is heard saying, “it ain’t worth it boy with me a rapper from my city and Foolio being a rapper from our city it ain’t worth it. Like the dissing, the beefing, the shooting like for what? When you’re sitting in your cell alone, cold, it’s lonely as hell in that b***h. Everybody leave you, nobody’s here for you. The only person there for you is your mother maybe one friend but it’s not worth it.”

As we reported earlier, a jury found four men guilty in the murder of Jacksonville rapper Foolio back in 2024. Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy all got hit with first-degree premeditated murder charges. Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, was out celebrating his 26th birthday in Tampa on June 23, 2024, when investigators say he was ambushed and shot outside a Holiday Inn, with three others getting hurt in the crossfire.

Prosecutors claim this murder is part of an “ongoing gang war” in Jacksonville. They said the four men started plotting their “coordinated mission” to take out Jones after he posted flyers on Instagram on June 14, 2024, letting folks know he’d be in Tampa for his birthday. According to the state, the guys made the trip from Jacksonville to Tampa the day before the murder. In the hours leading up to Jones’ death, prosecutors allege Chance and Alicia Andrews were tailing Jones and his crew around Tampa in a silver Chevrolet Cruze, while Gathright, along with Davion and Rashad Murphy, stayed close behind in a Chevrolet Impala.

Andrews, who prosecutors said is Chance’s girlfriend, was convicted of manslaughter in Jones’ death in October 2025. During the trial, prosecutors played surveillance footage showing Chance and Andrews at two nightclubs at the same time as Jones just before the shooting. “They never approached the bouncer, they never approached the door,” Assistant State Attorney Michelle Doherty pointed out during closing arguments, suggesting that the duo was only there to keep tabs on Jones.

Prosecutors went on to say that the suspects eventually tracked Jones and his entourage to the Holiday Inn, where three shooters—identified as Gathright and Davion and Rashad Murphy—opened fire on Jones and his friends’ cars. Jurors were shown maps from cellphone towers placing Chance’s and Gathright’s phones at the murder scene, along with phone records showing Chance was in touch with Gathright around the time of the shooting. Detectives from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office testified that 9mm shell casings found in a safe at Gathright’s crib matched those recovered from the murder scene. One detective even mentioned that a rifle found in the safe was “consistent” with the one used in the killing.
