Anne Rice, known as the author of the best-selling series ‘Interview With A Vampire’, has passed away at 55.

Her son, Christopher Rice, confirmed the news on Twitter stating his mother died due to complications from a stroke. It reads, “Earlier tonight, my mother, Anne Rice, passed away due to complications resulting from a stroke. She left us almost nineteen years to the day my father, her husband Stan, died. In her final hours, I sat beside her hospital bed in awe of her accomplishments and her courage,”

Rice was the author of the classic 1976 novel ‘Interview With A Vampire’, which was adapted to a film starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Kirsten Dunst in 1994. According to the New York Post, the novel was going to be a TV series for AMC and AMC+ in 2022.

The author’s funeral ceremony will take place in New Orleans on a further date. A public ceremony will happen next year.
