ICE Forces International Students To Transfer Or Leave US If Colleges Go Online-Only
If colleges and universities transition to online-only classes, ICE plans to send international students packing, giving them the option to either transfer schools offering in-person instruction or leave the US, entirely.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency issued a statement on Monday to the thousands of foreign students pursuing degrees in the US on visas and enrolled in schools planning to primarily operate online next semester, due to the steady-rising cases of coronavirus.

ICE’s statement reads, “[Students who fall under certain visas] may not take a full online course load and remain in the United States. The U.S. Department of State will not issue visas to students enrolled in schools and/or programs that are fully online for the fall semester nor will U.S. Customs and Border Protection permit these students to enter the United States.”
