When speaking with Vernon, he shared that the idea to go back to animation as opposed to a live-action film was all about the original creation!

“We thought it was a perfect opportunity to go back to Charles Addams’s original design from the New Yorker and bring those to life.”

“I think if you know the old films, and the old television show, its a nice omage” Charlize said in our interview.

When looking at the trailer of this movie, it’s easy to see that this storyline is different than what we have seen in the past with the Addams Family. However, a lot of the cast shared that it is more than just the storyline, it’s the voices behind the characters that help bring this new era Addams Family to life.

Chloë Grace said;

“In a time like today, this movie is about inclusivity and being there for each other and supporting each other with all our unique differences” especially given that the Addams family is unique in their own way!

Aimee Garcia who plays Denise shared that for her it was important to bring her Latin side into the character by adding some Spanish words which she thought would be removed from the final movie, but made the cut!

“After I got the role, they said that we are going to make her Latin, I was like yes, a small victory!”
