High School Track Coach Arrested For Alleged Sexual Contact With A Student

A Washington D.C. coach was arrested after he was accused of having sexual contact with one of his students.

Giovanni Di Angelo Reumante,31, was arrested by the Montgomery Police Department after police were told he had sexual contact with a former student. According to Baller Alert, a warrant for Reumante’s arrest was filed on Dec. 23 after a probe was placed together by the department’s Special Victims Division. Investigators said the former student came forward as an adult and said Reumante sexually assaulted her while she was a student at Northwood High School.

The coach was arrested upon his arrival from the Dominican Republic at the Dulles International Airport in Virginia.

Montgomery County Public Schools said in a statement that Reumante was placed on administrative leave and is not permitted on school grounds.

“Mr. Giovanni D. Reumante is a Montgomery County Public Schools security assistant and track & field coach who is currently on administrative leave from Northwood High School. The news of Mr. Reumante’s arrest by Customs and Border Patrol officials is just coming to us, for this reason, and rules around personnel matters we don’t have more to say at this time.”
