Halsey Recalls Miscarriage: ‘It’s The Most Inadequate I’ve Ever Felt’
While she’s previously opened up about her miscarriage earlier this year, Halsey recalls that time in her life with The Guardian, claiming she’d felt “inadequate.”
After opening up and releasing January’s “More,” in which she speaks on her experience,” the singer revealed she caught backlash. Now, she adds, “It’s the most inadequate I’ve ever felt.”

Continuing, she explains, “Here I am achieving this out-of-control life, and I can’t do the one thing I’m biologically put on this earth to do. Then I have to go onstage and be this sex symbol of femininity and empowerment? It is demoralising.”
The singer goes on to reveal that she has endometriosis, but things are looking positive since her last doctor’s visit. So, she adds, “[Motherhood is] looking like something that’s gonna happen for me. That’s a miracle.”

However, despite the bullying, Halsey remains strong and welcomes the criticism. In addition to her candidness on her experience with pregnancy, she’s also bisexual and speaks on her activism.
Sharing on finding the balance between that and her music, she shares, “It’s hard to figure out when being an activist deflects attention from my art. Sometimes when you’re the centre of ‘having something to say’ you start losing your agency. People don’t wanna hear it.”
