Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who just praised God for saving Donald Trump‘s life, is now breaking with POTUS and urging the DOJ (Department of Justice) to release the Jeffrey Epstein files after the GOP-led House blocked the Democrats’ second attempt to do so.
As we previously shared, on Monday (July 14), House Republicans blocked the second Democratic push to compel the Trump administration to release the Epstein files. The proposal, introduced by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), was narrowly rejected in the House Rules Committee in a 5–7 vote.
Only one Republican, Rep. Ralph Norman, of South Carolina, joined Democrats in supporting the measure. If passed, it would have ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to make all information related to any investigation into disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein public within 30 days.
Specifically, the amendment would have forced Bondi to “retain, preserve, and compile any records or evidence related to any investigation, prosecution, or incarceration of Jeffrey Epstein,” and to release the documents within 30 days.
DOJ And FBI Say Epstein Files Do Not Include ‘Incriminating Client List’ Involving Prominent Individuals As Speculated
Despite longstanding speculation that the Epstein files include an “incriminating client list” of influential figures or intelligence agencies involved in the well-connected convicted pedophile’s crimes, the DOJ and FBI released a memo stating their review concluded otherwise.
The federal agencies said there was no evidence of blackmail involving prominent individuals. Thus, no grounds to charge any third parties. The FBI continued to confirm that more than 1,000 victims were allegedly harmed by Epstein. The FBI said its review uncovered more than 300 gigabytes of material — including thousands of photos and videos of child sexual abuse material — much of which remains sealed under court orders to protect victims.
The FBI’s memo in part read, “Only a fraction of this material would have been aired publicly had Epstein gone to trial.” They further noted that nothing in the evidence justified the feds going after and charging other individuals. The memo continued:
“One of our highest priorities is combatting child exploitation and bringing justice to victims. Perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither of those ends.”
Donald Trump Speaks After Republican House Blocks Democrats’ Second Attempt To Release Epstein Files
On Tuesday (July 15), President Donald Trump addressed the Republican House blocking the release of the Epstein files. He said that Attorney General Pam Bondi should release “whatever she thinks is credible” on Jeffrey Epstein, despite facing speculation and backlash himself. Trump praised Bondi’s handling of the matter and said, “She’s handled it very well, and it’s going to be up to her. Whatever she thinks is credible, she should release.”
Later in the day, Trump continued to question the enduring fascination with the Epstein case. He even told his supporters not to “waste time and energy” on the controversy, dubbing it all “sordid but boring.” Trump added, “Only really bad people, including the fake news, want to keep something like this going.” He even told the press that Bondi told him his name did not appear in any of the records.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson Praises God For Saving Donald Trump’s Life Amid Assassination Attempt Anniversary
Meanwhile, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson praised God for saving Donald Trump’s life. At the weekly House Republican Leadership press conference, Johnson addressed the anniversary of Trump’s assassination attempt. He also highlighted how his supporters plan to use the thousands of dollars in savings from the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” Johnson in part said:
“One year ago, Sunday, on that field in Butler, Pennsylvania, an assassin nearly took the life of President Trump. And we can’t talk about it too much because it was a turning point in American history. It could have gone the wrong way. I mean, if that assassin’s bullet missed just an inch to the right, or if President Trump would’ve turned his head just a millisecond later, he would’ve died on that stage and this country would’ve come apart at the seams. But now, because of all this recent success and the President’s success, it’s easy to forget that just 12 months ago, President Trump was the most vilified politician, arguably in the history of the country.
Democrats spent years persecuting him on all fronts. They impeached him twice. Social media platforms removed his ability to communicate with his supporters. Armed FBI agents raided his home. Democrat judges and prosecutors bent the law to arrest him. And multiple assassins tried to kill him, but God miraculously spared the president’s life. I think it’s undeniable. And he did it for an obvious purpose. His presidency and his life are the fruits of divine providence. And he points that out, obviously now all the time. And he’s right to do so.
President Trump has lived since with the acknowledgement every day since, he has acknowledged that each new day isn’t guaranteed to us. It isn’t to any of us, and that’s why we’re not wasting any time. It’s why he remains so strong and resilient. It’s why we have such a sense of urgency. President Trump took a bullet to his head. He got up shortly thereafter. He pleaded with the crowd to fight, and then he went on to win a historic election less than four months later. America’s changed because he survived that day.”

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson Breaks With Donald Trump & Urges DOJ To Release Epstein Files As Previously Suggested
As his praises for God and Donald Trump went viral, more commentary followed as House Speaker Mike Johnson, who’s a close Trump ally and has never broken on an issue, told podcaster Benny Johnson that he supported the release of the Epstein files. This also happened days after Trump’s Justice Department said the matter was effectively closed.
Johnson said, “I’m for transparency. It’s a very delicate subject, but we should put everything out there and let the people decide it.” He also said that Attorney General Pam Bondi “needs to come forward and explain” the confusion she’s stirred up after claiming in multiple interviews earlier this year that the speculated Epstein “client list” was sitting on her desk for review, thus suggesting the purported documents would be released. He added, “I like Pam. I think she’s done a good job, but we need the DOJ focusing on the major priorities. I’m anxious to put this behind us.”
