Italian designer Giorgio Armani decided to stage his Milan Fashion Week show in an empty theatre due to fears of the coronavirus.
According to the New York Post, Giorgio Armani canceled his 4 pm show and displayed his new women’s wear for the season via live stream to ensure the safety of his guests. Recently, it was confirmed that there are 130 cases of coronavirus in northern Italy, 54 cases in Milan, and three people have died from the virus

“The show will be shown behind closed doors, due to the recent developments of coronavirus in Italy, live-streamed in front of an empty teatro [theater] on the Armani website, therefore please do not attend the show this afternoon,”

The fashion house said in the statement that the decision was made to safeguard the health of their guests who were expected to attend the show.
“The decision was taken to safeguard the well-being of all his invited guests by not having them attend crowded spaces.”
It was announced this weekend that there were dozens of cases in Italy, leading to the designer to make the last-minute decision.
