French Schoolgirl Admits Her Lie Led To Teacher Samuel Paty Being Beheaded
Last year, French history teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded after a 13-year-old French schoolgirl spoke out against him. Now, she admits to telling a lie, which sparked a horrific chain of events, leading to Paty’s tragic death.
The student, whose name has not been released, admitted that she “lied” about a classroom incident in order to please her father. Originally, the girl claimed that during a lesson on free speech, the 47-year-old teacher asked Muslim students to leave the room before he showed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. The girl says she told her father that she was suspended for two days after challenging Paty for sending the Muslim students into the hall while he showed blasphemous images.

Subsequently, the girl’s father filed a legal complaint against Paty, which led to a social media campaign blasting him. To note, depictions of Muhammad are forbidden in Islam and regarded by Muslims as highly offensive. Ten days later, Paty was beheaded by 18-year-old Abdullakh Anzorov, who was later killed by police. A year later, the girl has confessed to telling her father a lie to avoid punishment. She explains she wasn’t in class the day of the alleged incident because she was suspended from the day before for failing to attend class.
The girl’s lawyer is placing the blame of his client’s actions on her father. he blamed the father’s “excessive and disproportionate behavior” for the reason behind her lie. Since, the girl has been charged with slander, while her father was arrested on suspicion of being complicit in a terrorist killing.
