Four UK Gang Members Jailed For Smuggling Hundreds Of Kilos Of Cocaine Inside Frozen Chicken
After smuggling hundreds of kilos of cocaine inside frozen chicken, four gang members in the UK have been jailed and sentenced to a combined total of 50 years in prison.
In May 2019, the gang’s ringleader, Thomas Lordan, 38, created the company Independent Meat Ltd. as a front to illegally import the kilos, which they packaged inside the frozen poultry pieces.

The bust came a month later after police and the National Crime Agency spotted Lordan’s accomplices, Francis Sullivan and Emanual Jella, exchanging a duffel bag carrying 11kg (or about 24 pounds) of cocaine. In August, conspirator Mehemet Ali was also busted after transporting 55kg (or about 121 pounds) of cocaine on an industrial estate in Kent.
While authorities ended up arresting Jella and Lordan, Sullivan managed to escape to Turkey on a one-way flight. An investigation revealed that each of the members were a part of a larger criminal network gang. Eventually, authorities busted Sullivan in September at his home, where officers seized over 39,000 in cash, scales, and cocaine.
