67-Year-Old Texas Woman Busted With Over 80 Pounds Of Cocaine

Jim Wells County Sheriff officials say they busted a 67-year-old female driver who was transporting 84 pounds of cocaine through the state of Texas.

During the traffic stop earlier this month, JWC and Live Oak County deputies caught the unnamed woman, who was making her way back to Tennessee in a white Chevrolet SUV.

While conducting a a roadside interview, deputies used a K-9 to search around the vehicle, which alerted the presence of narcotics — 34 bundles of cocaine, valued at about $1 million.

Following the search and interview, the elderly woman was released due to medical reasons.

Since the incident occurred, the case has been turned over to federal authorities; who will continue the investigation, and pursue the case, and file any and all necessary charges.

Currently, the woman’s name has not be made public, as this investigation has since been handed to federal authorities.
