Hayward and Raven Randle arrived in Kauai from Los Angeles last Tuesday and uploaded their fake negative COVID-19 results onto the travel portal to avoid the mandatory quarantine in Hawaii.  The pair were arrested later that day after police discovered the documentation was fraudulent and charged them with unsworn falsification.

Following their arrest, Hayward and Randle were later released from police custody and taken to the airport to board a flight back to Los Angeles.

State law allows fully vaccinated passengers to skip the quarantine after uploading their vaccination documentation into the system. Unvaccinated passengers have to present a negative test 72 hours before their trip and if there is no proof of both, travelers are required to quarantine for 10 days.

Hayward is well known for his three seasons in the NBA and was selected as the No.30 overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Washington Wizards but was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the following season, he was traded to OKC Thunder but went in between the G League before going back to the Timberwolves.
