Floyd Mayweather’s Uncle And Trainer, Roger Mayweather Passed Away

It is with great regret to report that Roger Mayweather, Floyd Mayweather’s uncle and trainer has passed away at 58.
Roger was known as a very talented trainer, responsible for helping Floyd in his career and achievements. In addition to the champ, Roger also worked with Julio César Chávez and Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini. He was also a boxing champion himself before moving on to training.
“My uncle was one of the most important people in my life inside and outside of the ring,” said Floyd. “Roger was a great champion and one of the best trainers in boxing. Unfortunately, his health was failing him for several years and now he can finally rest in peace. Roger meant the world to me, my father Floyd Sr., my uncle Jeff, our whole family, everyone in and around the Mayweather Boxing Gym and the entire boxing world. It is a terrible loss for all of us.”
Sources close to Floyd share that he is very distraught and broken by the news of his uncle’s passing. As of now, the circumstances around Roger’s death are not clear, but Floyd had previously opened up his uncle’s declining health, putting some of it down to brain injuries from boxing.
“My uncle Roger Mayweather has lost a lot of memory from the sport of boxing,” Floyd previously revealed. “He’s only in his 50s but it seems like he’s an old man in his 80s.”
Floyd is currently goIng through a really tough time, just a few days ago it was reported that the mother of three of his children, Josie Harris was found deceased in her vehicle, Her cause of death has also not been revealed. Floyd’s grandmother Bernice Mayweather also passed away in 2018, on Roger’s birthday, April 24.
