Armed Deputies Surround Home Of Coronavirus Patient Refusing Quarantine
Armed deputies have surrounded the home of a 53-year-old Kentucky man; this after he checked himself out of the hospital against medical advice, refusing to quarantine after contracting the coronavirus.
Additionally, Gov. Andy Beshear says that Nelson County officials have “forced an isolation” on the man, who is one of the first 20 confirmed cases in the state.

Beshear adds, “It’s a step I hoped that I’d never have to take. But I can’t allow one person who we know has this virus to refuse to protect their neighbors.”
Nelson County Sheriff Ramon Pineiroa confirms that deputies are parked outside of the man’s home for 24 hours a day for the next two weeks.

Furthermore, for the federal government, the law has generally given vast authority to order quarantines of people with contagious diseases.
This protocol was previously seen in 1963 during the midst of a smallpox outbreak, when a US citizen was ordered to be hospitalized upon their arrival to New York, as they were without valid vaccination papers from Sweden.
