An FBI report was unsealed 18 years after a Swiss bodybuilder wrote a letter to Kobe Bryant and offered to kill his rape accuser for $3 million.

The 17-page report was posted on the FBI’s vault website earlier this month which revealed the details surrounding Patrick Graber and the offer. In 2003, Graber sent a letter to the late NBA player where he offered his services for a murder-for-hire plot leading to Bryant’s security and legal team to send the letter to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department for further investigation. Bryant’s accuser was also warned about the threat from federal investigators.
An undercover deputy met up with Graber where he discussed how he could ‘influence the victim’ in relation to the trial and added if the original plan didn’t work, he could make the victim disappear without any evidence.

Authorities arrested Graber on September 18, 2003, after he agreed on a deal to carry out the action against the victim. Investigators also discovered that Graber had an expired visa for two years while living in the United States. He pleaded no contest to grand theft in April 2004 and was deported from the country after his subsequent release.
Prior to his arrest, Graber claimed he had ties to the Russian mafia but investigators did not find any evidence to support it. A neighbor also told authorities he had a seen the Swiss resident carrying a box of weapons with the brand ‘Remington.’
