Fatal Shooting Near The Home Of Dave Chappelle, Comedian Not Involved

Twitter broke out into a frenzy Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 12) after rumors began claiming there was a fatal shooting at the home of comedian Dave Chappelle.

While an incident did take place near Chappelle’s family home in Yellow Springs, Ohio, authorities confirm that the iconic comedian and his family had zero connection.

WHIO reports that a man and a woman were murdered in a possible ambush involving the woman’s ex-husband, the Greene County Sheriff Department’s prime suspect.

Additionally, they report that the ex-husband and homeowner, drove up to his home, where an armed man began shooting at him in the vehicle. The homeowner, armed himself, began shooting back.

Soon after the woman drove onto the scene, armed herself, and began shooting at the homeowner, also her ex-husband. She was killed, along with the the gunman who originally opened fire on the ex-husband.

While the names of the residents have yet to be released, but a local resident said she heard yelling ahead of four gunshots from a large gun.

She states, “People shoot guns in the Glen all the time, but it’s past hunting season it was a big gun and went on for several seconds, and the yelling. It was clear there was some kind of personal conflict.”

The incident is currently considered an open investigation.
