Djimon Hounsou on Major The King’s Man Role, Rust & Working With Set Props
Hollywood Unlocked had the opportunity to speak to Oscar-nominated Djimon Hounsou, whom we previously had the pleasure of talking to for “A Quiet Place 2.”
The Beninese actor has an extensive list of action movies under his belt, and his role in The King’s Man was also a major one, but ‘very different’ he explained than some of his other work. Take the fight scene Comparing the experience of filming the fight scene with Rasputin for example, an extraordinary sequence of choreography and moves are present.

The King’s Man is set in the early years of the 20th century, where the Kingsman agency is formed to stand against a cabal plotting a war to take out millions.
Hounsou also spoke out about having the pleasure of working with Matthew Vaughn and aiding in bringing the vision for the film to life, as well as who he would want to work with in the future.
We also got into the tragedy that occurred on the set of Rust, and as an actor who has worked on many action sets, Hounsou gave us insight into what occurs on set with props and that accidents do happen, but everything is done to create a safe environment.
