Eric Trump Clarifies Remarks After Claiming He’s A ‘Part Of’ The LGBT Community

Eric Trump is doing a bit of damage control and clarifying his remarks after claiming he was a “part of” the LGBT community. During a ‘Fox & Friends‘ interview on Tuesday (Sept. 29), Trump was asked about a secret supporter of his father, who happened to be a lesbian woman from New York.

Responding to the question if he and his father are counting on this secret voter’s ballot, the 36-year-old said, “I’m telling you, I see it every day, the LGBT community, they are incredible and you should see how they’ve come out in full force for my father every single day. I’m part of that community and we love the man and thank you for protecting our neighborhoods and thank you for protecting our cities.”

After much hooplah about Trump seemingly coming out, a friend of the family told The New York Post that “he misspoke.” Trump later affirmed to the site that he is not gay nor bisexual, “To clarify, many of our close friends are part of the LGBT community, which was the intent of my statement — the left has taken that vote for granted for a long time and support from the gay community for my father is incredible. As to me personally, as I think you know, I am a happily married man to my wife, Lara,” whom he shares two kids with.
