The release date for Sean “Diddy” Combs is on the move again. The music mogul, who is currently serving time, now has a new date on the calendar: February 5, 2028.
This is just the latest update in a series of shifts for the 56-year-old star. Back in July, the Federal Bureau of Prisons moved his release date up by a month—from February 23 to January 24—after he got into a brawl with another inmate. Earlier this month, the date had shifted once more to February 20, 2028, before this latest change to early February.

As for what sparked the initial drama, TMZ reported back in July that the “I’ll Be Missing You” artist took “matters into his own hands” after being dissed by a fellow prisoner at the Fort Dix facility. Sources claimed the two scuffled and pushed one another, with one insider alleging that Combs “held his own” during the altercation. Prison staff eventually broke up the fight, and the father of seven was placed in solitary confinement.
By August, TMZ reported that Combs had been released from solitary.
When asked for comment regarding the situation, the Federal Bureau of Prisons kept things strictly professional, telling Page Six: “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions.”
Combs, who was found not guilty on two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and on racketeering conspiracy last July, remains behind bars as his release date continues to shuffle.
