Chrissy Teigen Responds To ‘Brutal’ Comments After Revealing Her ‘Miscarriage’ Was Actually An Abortion: ‘I Knew This Would Happen’

On Friday (September 16), Chrissy Teigen shared a ‘Hollywood Reporter’ article revealing new details on the loss of her and her husband John Legend’s son Jack — who they lost at 20 weeks due to a pregnancy complication.

Jack’s passing occurred back in September 2020 and at the time, the couple — who share a 6-year-old daughter named Luna, a 4-year-old son named Miles, and are currently expecting another baby— said that they had tragically suffered a miscarriage.

Two years later, Chrissy is now confessing that the miscarriage she claimed she had, was “actually an abortion” — which she admits came as a surprise to her.

While speaking at social impact agency Propper Daley’s “A Day of Unreasonable Conversation” summit on Thursday (September 15), Teigen said that she had a revelation that her miscarriage was in fact an abortion.

She said:

“Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention.”

After some talk about miscarrying, she eventually caved and confessed, “Let’s just call it what it was: It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago.”

Teigen claims that the realization came to her following the monumental overturning by the Supreme Court regarding Roe v. Wade earlier this Summer.

While feeling sympathetic towards those who have had an abortion, and taking into consideration the circumstances that they must have gone through, plus the emotional decision “they” had to make.

Teigen adds, “I fell silent, feeling weird that I hadn’t made sense of it that way. I told the world we had a miscarriage, the world agreed we had a miscarriage, all the headlines said it was a miscarriage. And I became really frustrated that I didn’t, in the first place, say what it was, and I felt silly that it had taken me over a year to actually understand that we had had an abortion.”
