The joke surfaced after a clip was posted on Friday where Cuomo was singing the lyrics to the theme of “Good Times”, the classic 1970s sitcom about a Black family living in Chicago. After singing the song, Lemon asked Cuomo how he knew about the show and Cuomo replies “You know I’m black on the inside.” However, the joke did not go over well with viewers when it went viral online.

One user said, “Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon trying to recite Good Times lyrics reminds me of Chappelle’s I know black people skit” while another said, “Difficult to understand what it’s like to be black unless you are black.” The criticism also included comparing Chris’s antics to his older brother’s sexual harassment scandal.
