Chris Brown made a court appearance to counter allegations from his former housekeeper, Maria Avila, who claims she was brutally attacked by a large dog at his L.A. residence. However, the trial took an unexpected turn and was declared a mistrial just after it kicked off.
The proceedings started on Monday, following the selection of a jury for Avila’s lawsuit, where she stated that she endured both emotional and physical injuries due to the incident while taking out the trash at Brown’s home.
But it wasn’t long before the judge called for a mistrial, sending everyone out of the courtroom. Rolling Stone reported that the ruling came after a juror was found to have searched for information about the case prior to the trial and had shared that information with others.

As he exited, Chris appeared upbeat, chatting with our photographer about the mistrial, casually remarking, “It happens.” He also responded to questions regarding Avila’s hefty $90 million damage claim, shaking his head and saying, “That’s crazy.”
