Chicago Schools Giving Out Condoms To 5th Graders To Combat “Racism”

Chicago Public Schools have a new policy that aims to give out condoms to fifth graders in a bid to combat “anti-racist pedagogy.”

The board of education’s policy notes that fifth graders must have a “condom availability program.” The new policy thinks that giving minors contraception “provides strategies to support all students that are inclusive of gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, sexual behavior, race, and disability.”

Per the Chicago Sun-Times at least 600 CPS schools will receive these condoms.

“When you don’t have those protections and don’t make those resources available then bad stuff happens to young people,” said CPS doctor Kenneth Fox. “You have elevated risks of sexually transmitted infections, of unintended pregnancies, and that’s very preventable stuff.”

Fox added that the focus is on prevention.

“Young people have the right to accurate and clear information to make healthy decisions,” added Fox. “And they need access to resources to protect their health and the health of others as they act on those decisions.”

Apparently, the new policy is driven by critical race theory with aims to provide services and combat inequality and “seeks to mitigate the effects of numerous inequities experienced by CPS students, such as access to sexual health education and services.”
