Following the news of her divorce filing from her husband Offset after seven years of marriage and the announcement of her third pregnancy, fans speculated about possible delays for her sophomore album. However, a close source revealed to reporter Loren Lorosa that Cardi is still on track to release the album this year despite everything she has on her plate. She’s fully committed.
As previously reported, a representative for the New York rapper confirmed to Page Six that Cardi filed for divorce on Wednesday. While this marks her second filing, her rep emphasized that she’s not “folding this time around.”
When the news broke on Thursday, Cardi also surprised everyone with another announcement: she is expecting her third child with Offset. In a heartfelt post, she expressed, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you. You have brought me more love, more life, and most of all, renewed my power! You reminded me that I can have it all and that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion!”
She added, “I love you so much and cannot wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish and what you pushed me to do! Life’s twists, turns, and tests are easier to navigate when laying down, but you, your brother, and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
The former couple, who married in 2017, currently have two children together: 6-year-old Kulture and 2-year-old Wave.
