California Man Dies Of Coronavirus 1 Day After Posting Regrets Of Attending Party
Thomas Macias, a 51-year-old Lake Elsinore, California man, passed away of coronavirus one day after he posted on social media of his regrets of attending a friend’s barbecue. Following the party last month, Macias began feeling unwell and soon received a positive diagnosis.
Ultimately, he took to Facebook to warn others of the severity of the virus, admitting his “stupidity” in attending the party amid the fast-rising COVID-19 numbers. He wrote, “I f*cked up and went out a couple of weeks ago and contracted the coronavirus. Because of my stupidity I put my mom and sisters and my family’s health in jeopardy. This has been a very painful experience. This is no joke. If you have to go out, wear a mask, and practice social distancing. Don’t be a f*cking idiot like me. Hopefully with God’s help, I’ll be able to survive this.”

Sadly, a day after posting his regrets, he passed. It’s reported that Macias, a social butterfly, had barely gone out during quarantine, but after some restrictions lifted, he decided to visit friends. Unfortunately, one of his friends was positive and asymptomatic, and neglected to tell others of his diagnosis. His actions caused about a dozen partygoers to contract the virus, including Macias, a truck driver who suffered from diabetes, which made him more susceptible.
Macias’ brother-in-law, Gustavo Lopez, says, “Our understanding is that a gentleman had called him and said ‘hey I was at the party, I knew I was positive. I didn’t tell anybody. I think the gentleman was regretting not telling everybody, and he was calling people who were at the party to recommend they get tested.”
