Afeez Akande is sharing a message to his children who he shares with ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ star Brittney Taylor following their physical altercation that went down earlier this month.
In a now-deleted Instagram post he said, “To my daughter Legacy, I am so proud to be your dad and will fight tooth and nail, as I have been for months, to have you and your brother in a stable home with me. To my son Lejin, your strength has amazed me every single day since God blessed me with you.
I am so sorry you all have had to endure pain, lies, violence, and deceit at such a young age. Daddy loves you both and will fight even harder to have you both in my arms again World, meet Legacy and Lejin Akande The next generation.” In his carousel post, he also included screenshots of a conversation he allegedly had with Taylor. In one snap he accuses her of being “bitter” and harassing “every girlfriend I’m with.”
He also claims she threatened to “kill” him. Despite his post, his comment section has been flooded with other women coming to Taylor’s defense after she spoke and said she is a victim of domestic violence.
As it was previously reported, Taylor took to her IG account to share her side of the story after her arrest was made public. She said,
“Speaking of DV. This Nigerian man has been beating on me for Years. He feels like women should obey their man and if they talk back they deserve to be hit. SMH, He’s abusing me mentally and physically. He’s beat me infront of my child more than twice. Here is a video from one time I caught him on camera in the background admitting to giving me a black eye.
“He’s now trying to play victim and grab a little clout along the way. It’s very sad he’s going the extra mile to try damaging me as if he hasn’t damaged me enough. He’s a dead beat sadly because my daughter loves the hell out of him smh… I just wanna be left alone. I left Miami and I’m going thru hell. I’m being stalked and disrespected every other day.
“I ran away from Miami because I could no longer endure the abuse while I was pregnant. I just wanted to get away so I packed 2 bags and left. He’s held all my things hostage and is even selling my things. He’s not my baby father. He’s my abuser. Let’s be clear. I never hit him with a bat. He’s a liar.
“I hit him with a toy because he attacked me and knocked my 82 yr old grandmother to the floor in the process. SMH I was wrong for the way I retaliated and I turned myself in like the stand up woman I am and took my charges. There’s not excuse for violence but that was clearly reactive abuse. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH.”
Taylor was charged with assault after allegedly beating Afeez with a bag. A close source told TMZ that Afeez, who is the father of her 2-year-old and 8-month-old was leaving his apartment with his kids when Brittney allegedly said something to him that he ignored, and apparently that set her off.
He said in his complaint that he told cops Brittney was so heated that she socked him right in the face while his kids were present. Afeez reportedly left the residence but Taylor followed him out with the bat and hit him and leaving him with a bloody face. He ended up in the hospital with several injuries which needed stitches.
Amid all the drama that has spilled over online, it appears Taylor is trying remain positive through it all for the sake of their kids.
