Hunter Mannies,44, explained to the New York Post he saw a man who resembled Laundrie wearing a hoodie and drinking alone at Bullwinkle’s Saloon in West Yellowstone on Aug. 26. Mannies explained that Laundrie appeared to be “mad at the world” and interfered in a conversation between Mannies and his friend. “The convo got into hunting and guns and politics. The guy just looked mad and then at some lull in the conversation, he said, ‘Stupid southerners and f—ing Republicans. “ he said.

Mannies added that Laundrie introduced himself shortly afterward but got a weird vibe from him throughout the night. “I kind of laughed and said, ‘Well, where are you from? and he said, ‘New York,” Mannies said. “And I said, ‘Okay, New York’ and he said, “I have a name, it’s Brian,” he explained.

Mannies also spoke with the FBI for 45 minutes about his encounter with Laundrie.

“How many people named Brian from New York who look exactly like him are in the middle nowhere at the bar?
