From the jail cell straight to Congress! Donald Trump‘s co-defendant and ‘Black Voices for Trump’s leader Harrison Floyd, who was recently given a bond after being the only one to spend some time in Fulton County Jail is now announcing that he’s looking to run for Congress.

As we previously reported, According to The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee signed the bond order Tuesday afternoon, five days after Floyd turned himself in to be arrested at the Fulton County Jail. Attorney, Chris Kachouroff says he filed paperwork on Monday to represent Floyd and was contracted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ office to discuss a possible bond. Once they reached an agreement Floyd was finally free. After his release, Floyd thanked Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for a “negro wake-up call” and announced that he is “exploring running for a congressional seat.”

“She reminded me that our country and the state of Georgia will not be able to be a righteous nation if we stand on pillars of corruption, racism, lying and cheating,” Floyd said Wednesday. “And when we are governed by men and women who are concerned about things in the world rather than serving the citizens they’re sworn to protect, we end up going into more and deeper darkness. So the only thing we can do is follow God and lead by example.”

Kachouroff claims his client only received a bond because the prosecutor “didn’t like the optics” of Floyd being the only one who had to stay in the slammer.  “She was just letting him rot in there,” he said. “I told Harrison ‘this is ridiculous. She should have jumped in there and done the right thing.’”

Jeff DiSantis, Willis’ spokesman, strongly denied Kachouroff’s version of events. “Mr. Floyd has had the opportunity to work out a consent bond in the same manner as the other defendants named in the indictment, but chose not to do so until today,” he said.
