As expected, ‘Black Ink’ star Ceaser Emanuel has turned himself in to face animal cruelty charges. This comes just weeks after a video showing him abusing a dog went viral.

Ceaser made the decision to surrender on Wednesday. Jail records currently show that Emanuel is facing two misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty and one felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.

As we previously reported, a video obtained by @gossipofthecity showed the reality star kicking and grabbing a chair to hit a dog. Emanuel’s attorney says the video was recorded during COVID lockdown and possibly leaked by an ex-GF who had it out for Emanuel. Still, fans and social media users were not here for his disturbing actions. Even co-star Donna Lombardi called him out over the clip. She said at the time, “If you can treat a dog like this, it shows how sick of a person you truly are. I don’t even get into the life of this man, but this video made me so upset. Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE animals. Especially dogs. Even after he beat his daughter up, @vh1 @viacom_intl & the new @blackinkcrew producers tried to protect Ceaser, even made up fake conflicting storylines about my relationship to do it! Now this, cannot be undone. I pray the people see you, @ceaserblackink, as the monster you are. Your karma has been adding up for years, but to do this to an innocent dog!?! This is crazy. CHARGES NEED TO BE PRESSED, and CANCELLATIONS NEED TO BE MADE! THE WORLD IS WATCHING! A EVERYONE MUST BE HELD ACCUNTABLE!”

His rep also told TMZ, “Although his actions were not appropriate at all, [Ceaser] is sincerely apologetic and feels extremely bad. He is dealing with death threats which is causing him fear and depression. His only goal was to build an empire to help build jobs and bring the black community in the tattoo industry successful given that the community is limited there.”

As a result of the backlash, VH1 decided to cut ties with Caesar. The network released a statement saying, “We have made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel from
Black Ink Crew New York. Since next season was close to finishing production, this decision will not impact the upcoming season.”

Caesar has since maintained that he’s innocent and did not abuse the dog. Here’s what he had to say before turning himself in:
