Bernice Burgos is making headlines, and not just for her eye-catching, internet-breaking selfies. Instead, it’s about the comments she made on a recent episode of the Joe Budden podcast regarding her bartending earnings.

During the show, the model and entrepreneur was asked about her highest earnings. Burgos revealed that she would earn around $30,000 on slower nights, while on peak nights and special events, such as birthdays, her highest earnings reached up to $70,000. She explained, “I only bartended for three years. I only said three years I was gonna be in here, start my clothing line, and I was out, buy my house and do what I gotta do, and that’s what I did.”

Many people online were quick to call it cap, but others who have a better understanding or experienced night life around that time quickly came to her defense. One X user tweeted, “Lemme just say this, New Yorkers know that Bernice Burgos is absolutely not lying bout making $30k a night when she was bartending.” Another added, “I believe Bernice Burgos made that much money bartending. Why you think the strippers were beefing with the bartenders during the late 2010s? The bartenders were baddies. Ni**as spent their last…” A third supporter chimed in, “Bernice Burgos is the baddest b*tch alive, I definitely believe she was getting all that money like hello?? Bffr.”

Welp, Bernice has since caught wind of all the online chatter and is now speaking out to defend herself. The Bold & Beautiful founder said in a Thursday Instagram Story, “Let’s talk about the podcast I was just on. Everybody is like ‘omg she made all that money.’ Everybody is kind of shocked and surprised… if you know, you know.”

She went on to elaborate, “If you was in the nightlife in New York City, you know what happened on Powerball Sundays… you already know.” Burgos continued, “I don’t know what’s going on now in the nightlife but then…”

Before wrapping up her video, the unbothered model noted, “Every year it got better and better… for me. I was only there for three years. Like I said, if you know, you know!”
