Tuesday night, singer Bebe Rexha returned to the stage for the first time since a fan threw a cell phone at her face during a show in New York City.

While at her concert at The Fillmore in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, she begged concertgoers to refrain from doing anything that will put her in harm’s way.
“I can’t get another bruise,” Rexha then said referring to the black eye she suffered from the phone hitting into her face over the weekend.

“Are we going to have a good show tonight? Yes, we f–king are,” she said. “Can we let people slow us down, Philly? No. Just no phones on my face tonight please, I beg of you.”

As we previously reported, Rexha was performing on stage at Manhattan’s Pier 17 Rooftop Sunday night when a fan intentionally hurled his phone at her face — striking her above the eye.

The man behind the crime was identified as concertgoer Nicolas Malvagna. He was arrested and charged with assault after he allegedly threw his phone at Bebe Rexha during a concert Sunday in NYC, sending the pop star to the hospital and ending her performance early.

According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, the 27-year-old admitted that he intentionally threw the phone at the singer. He explained, “I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny,” Malvagna said.

On Monday he was charged with two counts of assault in the three degree, one count of harassment in the second degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, along with one count of attempted assault in the third degree. He is due back in court on 1 July.

More On The Incident

A video taken by another concertgoer shows the shocking moment Rexha is on stage singing and a phone hits her directly in the face near her eye. She clearly was in great pain as she immediately fell to the ground while holding her face.

Rexha was then quickly taken off stage to seek medical attention. It was said that she was brought to a nearby hospital where she had to receive stitches.

A video shared by other attendees also seemingly shows the moment Nicolas Malvagna is called out by someone on stage who caught him throwing the phone.

Bebe Rexha’s Recovery

The 33-year-old took to social media to let her fans know she was “good” following all the chaos. She even shared pictures of her injuries and stitches.

Rexha’s concert was part of her “Best F’n Night of My Life” tour. She still has four concerts remaining on the tour. The stops include Washington DC, Atlanta, Orlando, and Houston.

Meanwhile, people have been sending her engorging messages online. On Twitter user said, “What a sick POS. What if he severely injured her where she lost her eye, would he still find it funny? I’m glad Bebe is okay, though. We love you, queen!.” Another said, “Absolutely devastated. This woman did not deserve this. The pain and the suffering that she has been put through… she is so beautiful and what has happened to her is just beyond belief.” A third added, “WE LOVE YOU BEBE.”
