After it was revealed earlier this week that Baltimore Ravens safety Earl Thomas was held at gunpoint by his wife after he was caught cheating, the team wants to cut his contract immediately.
According to the New York Post, the incident could have violated Thomas’ contract since it wasn’t up until 2022. It was revealed that the Ravens were not too thrilled about his behavior last season due to his behavior towards other teammates and struggling with defensive strategies. Currently, Thomas is under a four-year contract with a $55 million deal which included a guaranteed $32 million.

Prior to the reveal of the couple’s viral domestic dispute, the Ravens were not aware that the incident happened.

Thomas released a statement in a now-deleted Instagram post stating how upset he was about the story being leaked:
“It’s really not anybody’s business. It pisses me off that [the story] got out. Instead of talking about us, just keep us in y’all prayers.”
