Ballistics Report Contradicts Attorney General’s Account Of Breonna Taylor Police Shooting

Per the Courier Journal, one of the ballistics reports used to figure out where the shots came from in the moments leading up to Breonna‘s death, contradicts what Kentucky attorney general Daniel Cameron claims. He said that Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, shot one of the Louisville police officers that night.

Cameron said that Walker’s shots went through  LMPD Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly’s thigh, which led him and officer Myles Cosgrove to return shots, which ultimately ended Breonna’s life.

However, the ballistics report notes that “due to limited markings of comparative value,” the 9-mm bullet that entered and exited Mattingly was neither “identified nor eliminated as having been fired” from Walker’s weapon.

In addition, one of Walker’s attorneys, Steven Romines, said that an internal LMPD personnel record noted that Officer Hankison had been recently issued a 9-mm handgun by the department, which also contradicts Cameron‘s claim that all of the cops were using .40 caliber weapons.

As of now, Cameron has not responded to the discrepancies.
