“Baby Shark” has taken over YouTube with 7.04 billion plays, beating Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito.” However, it took the song four years to reach the number one spot on the video-sharing platform’s music chart. Although it started out as a summer camp chant, the modern version was produced by Pinkfong, the subsidiary of SmartStudy and one interesting fact is that if you play the song based on its views, it would approximately play for 30,187 years straight.
A statement was released by SmartStudy CEO Min Seok Kim, who thanked fans for their support over the past four years, “We’re very honored by this record and will continue to focus on delivering high-quality entertainment beyond the digital platforms.” The song was originally uploaded in 2015 and sung by then 10-year-old singer Hope Segoine.

So far, Pinkfong has made $5.2 million from Youtube alone.
