Former Danity Kane band member Aubrey O’Day spoke candidly about her rumored affair with Donald Trump Jr., saying she sometimes wonders whether she’ll ever be loved the way that the 44-year-old did during their romance. The pair were said to have allegedly started seeing one another back in 2011, during which time Trump Jr. was still married to his then-wife Vanessa Trump, whom he shares five children with.
In an interview with Page Six, Aubrey says the relationship ultimately fell apart when Trump Jr. decided to “go be the president’s son,” which would have been somewhere around the time his father, Donald Trump, became the 45th president of the United States in 2016. Though the “Show Stopper” singer has shied away from speaking about her time with Trump Jr. in the past, she finally feels open enough to discuss their relationship.
“I love him. Love, loved, love. I’ll always have love for him,” Aubrey admitted. “But I saw him choose a life that was inauthentic — for status, power, whatever it is. I’m so disappointed in what he became.” The pair first met while filming the fifth series of “Celebrity Apprentice” on NBC, and when things started to derail, Aubrey recalled finding it hard to defend the man she deemed her “soulmate.”
“When I say that [he] was my soulmate, I’m not going to lie. I’m a very honest person, so I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, I had nothing to do with him. He’s ridiculous.’ Like, no, he was just like me,” she continued.
“I’ve literally been that since I was young, and I’ve always been heavily empathetic. I have a bleeding heart, and I stand up for people that don’t have a voice. And when I have it, I will use as much of it as I can to push agendas for people that deserve to be seen. And he loved all of those things about me. And the man you’re seeing now probably wouldn’t.”
Aubrey O’Day says it’s easier now for newcomers like Addison Rae and Bhad Bhabie to become a star without having to work hard:

Though Aubrey has since gone on to form other relationships, she doubts that there’ll ever be a man who will have an effect on her the way that Trump Jr. did. Shortly after things ended between them, the “Making the Band” star began dating reality star and DJ Pauly D, though their romance was said to have been plagued by infidelity throughout their time together.
“I think to find what him and I had is probably going to be very, very difficult. And I’m not banking on it,” she shared. “I completely gave up on [love] after that, which is how I was able to be with Pauly.”
