Ariana Grande Signs Petition Supporting Arrest Of Officers Involved In The Killing Of George Floyd

Ariana Grande is using her platform to help get justice for George Floyd, the black man who was killed after being pinned down by an officer who had his knee on his neck. The other officers on the scene were on Floyd’s back during the arrest for suspicion of forgery.

Despite Floyd’s pleas to the cops to get off of him because he couldn’t breath, all of the officers ignored him and let Floyd suffer in pain until he became unconscious. Floyd later died at a local hospital. As we previously reported, the officer’s have all been fired but now, many people including the pop singer wants them to be arrested and charged!

Late Wednesday, Grande took to Twitter to encourage her fans to sign a petition calling on Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and District Attorney Mike Freeman to arrest and charge all four officers for police malpractice. In her tweet, Grande also included a link to the Change.org petition asking her fans get involved ASAP: “#justiceforGeorgeFloyd — text FLOYD to 55156 @colorofchange to put pressure on DA Mike Freeman to charge and arrest these officers call 612-348-5550,” Ariana tweeted. According to The Blast, she has also signed the petition.

Kellen Sims, who started the petition, pointed out: “Not that it would matter at all, but George was not even wanted for a violent crime. A grocery store that he was signing a bad check.”

“We are trying to reach the attention of Mayor Jacob Frey and DA Mike Freeman to beg to have the officers involved in this disgusting situation fired and for charges to be filed immediately. Please help us get justice for George and his family!” Sims added.

Twitter users applauded the star for using her platform to highlight the latest death due to police brutality.
