Former NFL player Antonio Brown, 37, is back in Miami, Florida with a new mugshot after last week’s extradition from Dubai, and he has since pleaded not guilty to a second-degree attempted murder charge.
As we previously shared, on Thursday (November 6), the Miami Police Department confirmed Brown’s extradition back to the United States after his initial arrest in Dubai. He landed in New Jersey, with a planned transfer to Miami, where Brown is set to face trial on a second-degree attempted murder charge, related to a shooting earlier this year in Little Haiti. Officials noted that Brown’s capture ended a 4 1/2-month-long search.
At the time of Brown’s capture and extradition back to the U.S., NBC News reported that Miami Police spokesperson Mike Vega said:
“Miami Police confirm that U.S. Marshals have apprehended Antonio Brown and that he has been extradited to the U.S. No date has been set for his transfer to Miami-Dade County.”
Former NFL Player Antonio Brown Accused Of Shooting Into Miami Crowd During Adin Ross Event, Claims Self-Defense During Alleged Robbery
Prior to his extradition, Brown, full name Antonio Tavaris Brown, had gone viral back in May after getting into a fight with multiple people. The incident occurred after a 10-match card boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross on May 16. During the melee, several gunshots rang out. According to police in Miami, Brown has been a wanted man ever since.
Meanwhile, Brown has maintained that he acted in self-defense, admitting that he had “slammed” one person’s security guard. He claimed people were targeting him and trying to rob him during the brawl. He also told police that he hadn’t done anything wrong. However, the Washington Post reported the following month that a warrant was out for Brown’s arrest.
Police identified the alleged victim as Brown’s alleged former friend, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu. He is the same man who went viral after waving a Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime show performance in February.
In June, police arrested Nantambu on charges of resisting arrest and disturbing the peace by interrupting a lawful assembly. Nantambu and Brown’s incidents appeared to have been linked according to reports as Brown posted about his issues with Nantambu on X. The former NFL player wrote:
“That guy is a fraud, liar, stalker & criminal. He was arrested in 2022 for stealing 6 figures of jewelry from me. He then showed up at my show at Rolling Loud in 2023 trying to assault me.
Then in May, he snuck into a gate at the event and came right up to me trying to steal from me and threaten my life, Media hasn’t told this story yet… instead painting a false picture of me. That night I was fighting for my life with his intentions.”

Antonio Brown Back In Miami With New Mugshot, Preparing To Face Attempted Murder Charge After Dubai Extradition
Since Antonio Brown’s extradition back to the U.S. from Dubai, he has officially made it back to Miami, Florida, where he has since pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree attempted murder, with a deadly weapon (firearm).
On Tuesday (November 11), footage showed Brown in Miami as he walked off a jet, preparing to go to a hearing. Sports journalist Andy Slater shared a video to his X account, labeling it a ‘Slater Scoop.’ The video showed Brown exiting a jet and walking down stairs towards a vehicle on the tarmac.
Officials then booked Brown into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, a Miami-Dade Corrections facility. Upon arrival, officials took a new mugshot of the former NFL player. Online records show a $10,000 bond. However, two asterisks next the amount lead to a note stating information may not be up-to-date.
On Monday (November 10), Brown’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, told TMZ Sports that he’d previously filed a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf.
According to TMZ, Brown’s alleged former friend, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, alleged the former NFL player snapped at him during Adin Ross’ boxing event before allegedly trying to shoot him with a handgun. However, Brown maintains he was only trying to protect himself, which his attorney reiterated. Eiglarsh said:
“Brown was attacked that night and acted within his legal right to protect himself from an individual who had previously committed criminal acts against him.”
