ALL CAP: Pop Smoke Slams Social Media For Suggesting He Stole A Rolls-Royce

Last month, we reported that Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke was arrested in NYC for allegedly stealing a Rolls-Royce.  Federal agents claimed he borrowed the luxury vehicle for a music video, being shot in LA back in November 2019, and never returned it to its owner.

While conversing with Angie Martinez at Hot 97, Pop slams social media and the allegations against him, claiming, “Foolishness. I’ll tell you later. But just know… You know, it’s cap. We gon’ keep it like that.”

He later took to Instagram to add, “I’m a give a message to my young n***as. N***as like us, coming where we come from, we can’t afford to f**k up. We can’t afford to slip up. Make no mistakes, you heard, because they watchin’ and they want us to. We got all odds against us. And fake n***as be winnin’ sometimes. So if you wanna succeed, you can’t f**k up. You ain’t got no space for it. You can’t afford it.”

In addition to tracking the vehicle by GPS, which he’d installed himself, the owner of the vehicle learned it had made its way into Arizona, then into New York, thanks to a photo Pop uploaded onto his Instagram, with a location tag.

Smoke was arrested on January 17, 2020 and released on bail days later. Subsequently, social media alleged his mother used her house for his bail; but he denied it via a post.

He wrote, “N***as said I couldn’t pay for my bail. I told em believe non of what you hear and half of what you see.”
