The courtroom drama surrounding Lil Durk’s murder-for-hire trial is intensifying. On Thursday, August 27—Day 4 of the trial—OTF Jam, born Kacey Hester, returned to the stand, offering a candid look at his complicated feelings toward the rapper.
While Jam admitted to the court that he still harbors affection for Durk, the relationship has clearly soured. “I still got a lot of love for him. Blood was there for me… I feel bad. I know he probably hate me. I got love for him, I just don’t have respect for him,” he testified.

Despite that lingering love, Jam painted a dark picture of Durk’s influence, describing him as a mastermind who allegedly pushed those in his circle toward violence. Jam recounted a night at a nightclub where Tory Lanez was also present. According to Jam, he expressed a desire to snatch a chain off the neck of one of Lanez’s friends, to which Durk allegedly replied, “That’s the Jam I wanna see.”
The bombshell anecdote didn’t go over well with the defense. Durk’s attorney, Brian Steel, immediately moved for a mistrial, arguing that the testimony was unfairly prejudicial. The defense contended that the statement essentially told the jury Durk encouraged robbery—an act not part of the current case—and noted that name-dropping a star like Tory Lanez could unfairly influence the jury’s perception.

The judge ultimately dismissed the motion for a mistrial, allowing OTF Jam to continue his testimony. Steel is expected to begin the cross-examination process when Jam returns to the stand.
