Chris Sails found himself back in the slammer after Texas police say he made up a scary and wild story about his kids being in danger, and it cost him his freedom for a night.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the Waller County Sheriff’s Office got a call on August 16 about somebody acting real suspicious, running around and jumping on people’s cars in the neighborhood. When deputies pulled up, they say they found Chris’ tale just sitting in the middle of the road next to a light pole, looking like he was praying. Then, out of nowhere, he started rolling around in the street!

Things got even more serious when officers started questioning him. TMZ reports that Chris told police his kids had fallen into a body of water right behind his house. Of course that’s the kind of call that makes any parent’s heart drop, and the cops didn’t play around. They rolled out a full search and rescue mission, fire department trucks, boats, sonar equipment, even drones in the sky, all searching for kids they believed might be in the water fighting for their lives. Turns out, the kids were never in any danger at all. They were safe with family the whole time.
Once officers figured out the story didn’t add up, they arrested Chris on August 17 for knowingly making a false statement to law enforcement, which is a misdemeanor. He spent a night in the slammer and posted bond the next day to get out
