Linda Evangelista Admits She Is ‘Not Interested’ in Dating Anyone: ‘I Don’t Want to Hear Somebody Breathing’

In a surprising revelation, iconic supermodel Linda Evangelista has declared that she is simply “not interested” in dating. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Canadian beauty shared her candid thoughts on finding romance again, and let’s just say, her reasons are as unique as her runway strut.

“I don’t want to sleep with anybody anymore. I don’t want to hear somebody breathing,” Evangelista confessed, leaving us all in stitches.
While most people might cite compatibility or emotional connection as reasons for pursuing a romantic relationship, Linda has taken a refreshingly different approach. Apparently, the sound of someone’s breath is enough to make her run for the hills.

The model icon disclosed that the last time she dated was “definitely before the Cool-Sculpting.” She was referring to the fat reduction procedure that left her “permanently deformed” and brutally disfigured” after undergoing sessions from August 2015 to February 2016. Before that, she was married to Gérald Marie, the former head of Elite Model Management’s Paris office. After tying the knot in 1987 they divorced in 1993.

Despite her being 22 and he was 37 at the time, Evangelista alleged that her ex-husband physically abused her during their marriage. She shared this revelation in the Apple TV+ docuseries The Super Models that premiered in September. However, Marie’s lawyer Céline Bekerman denied all accusations to PEOPLE at the time. While speaking with the Sunday Times, she said that she spent the money she earned from modeling “getting out” of that marriage.”

Evangelista’s lack of interest in dating doesn’t mean she’s closed off to other forms of companionship. In fact, she’s more than happy to have her friends and family by her side.

The star who shares son Augustin, 17, with ex François-Henri Pinault, shared that her next plans are to stay healthy and soak up the time left she has with her son before he goes off to college. “Well, I don’t want to stay in New York. I want to hike and be healthy, and work,” she gushed. “I want to be a nanny to my grandchildren. And I want to move to the desert where my lungs won’t hurt.”

Evangelista has overcome breast cancer twice after being diagnosed in December 2018 and then again in July 2022. She told The Sunday Times that she’s now focused on the future and her goal is simply “to stay alive.”
