Looks like an arrest warrant has been issued for Kodak Black. According to local 10 news, they reported that they obtained the warrant which states Kodak reportedly missed another meeting with pretrial services in a felony drug case in Broward County.
The rapper whose real name is Bill Kapri was first taken into custody on July 16, 2022, on charges of trafficking in oxycodone and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and also driving with an expired driver’s license and tags. Following the arrest Kodak was released on a $75,000 bond, according to court documents.
Per the judge’s order, Kodak was under strict pretrial release terms, which required him to submit to substance abuse testing while the case is pending. Last week, the Broward Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Black’s arrest after accusing the rapper of not showing up for a drug test on June 9.
As we previously reported, after his arrest in July Kodak Black spoke out describing his arrest as character assassination. “I’m being racially profiled and as a black man in America I deserve my freedom especially with everything I do for my community I should be getting love , respect and support from the authorities ! To move freely , not getting arrested for expired tag and dark windows” Kodak tweeted on July 27th.
Kodak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, later revealed that the pills were actually medically prescribed to Kodak following a shooting back in February, when he was involved in an LA brawl. Speaking of the ordeal on Twitter on Tuesday, the 25-year-old said, “That’s no reason to even search my car in the first place and going to jail about having my medication in the car is insane. Ima Sue these people for every dollar I gotta spend bout this sh*t !”
Furthermore, Kodak believes that the incident was driven around racial profiling and character assassination, particularly because it wasn’t illegal for him to have his medication on him even if he didn’t have a medical note to show law enforcement officers.
For them to have charged him with possession of a controlled substance would seem rather bizarre. “I’m being racially profiled and as a black man in America,” Kodak tweeted. “I deserve my freedom especially with everything I do for my community I should be getting love , respect and support from the authorities ! To move freely , not getting arrested for expired tag and dark windows.”
“This a self inflicted wound that coulda been prevented ! My people posta made sure my tags stay up and my tints Just right but @ da same time I should have a pass to drive with tints due to my status AT LEAST !!! I show all this love round here just to get slapped in the face.” He said in another tweet.
